Thanks to Rajam, I was tempted to make this kolam done by Suba recently. Due to popular demand I found a wooden plank and tried it out with my new technique. I am not very happy with the outcome as the overlapping strokes are not quite clear in some places. This is because the plank had some scratches on it and the ear bud was not able to glide through properly, still I decided to share this with all of you for your valuable suggestions and comments. Suba especially yours...

2010 Christmas was very special. It was not only the first festival at Mum's new home but that my sister and her hubby who lived in USA for more than 15 yrs were here and also for the first time in many years, Mum's two sisters (one from Australia and one from Delhi) visited us for Christmas. This was taken at around 3 am on 25th Dec after we got back from midnight mass. Let me start the introduction from the men standing behind the Christmas tree. L to R is my youngest brother David, my hubby Dhanasekaran (known as Danny at my Mums' place) and my sister's hubby Ramesh. Sitting on the right in front of the tree is my sweet Mum with my son Gerry and daughter Anita and the 3 ladies L to R is my bro's wife Noreen, my sister Jenny and of course me...
I was trying to do a sketch of the floor plan for my hubby's office emergency / fire exits just now (it is past midnight) and finally managed to complete it and copy it into his pen drive to be printed and put up on their notice board or something like that. Before I shut down the computer I thought of making a quick 10 - 10 dots kolam and I selected the most easiest of Anita's recent creation as I did not want to spend too much time since I was sleepy already. A real quick kolam it was as I finished it in 10 minutes flat and this is the out come. I am sure many of you are going to love the cadbury gems in this kolam and it is specially dedicated to the kids in ikolam.
This big rangoli was made by a few students at the Madras University for Pongal Celebrations this year and Anita had clicked a picture on her mobile. Just wanted to share this with all of you. Base materials used were salt with colourpodi. I am sure you will enjoy this.
Straight dots: 9 - 1
This is quite a simple kolam which just took me 10 minutes to make. I modified a kolam I had seen on the internet to get this design. Changed the flowers to look like hearts and added a blue and pink water bed around the hearts to make it look really romantic. In case there is a valentine collection coming up, here is my contribution.. HAPPY VALENTINE DAY FRIENDS..
Straight dots: 10 - 10
Now Anita is in full swing creating more and more kolams for this collection. I tried to convince her to make a pookolam and she ended up with this fusion kolam. Again I could not resist the temptation of doing it on PS and uploading immediately for everyone to enjoy..
Straight dots: 10 - 10
Seeing me digging my kolam books for the 10 - 10 kolams, Anita took an old notebook and started creating some new kolams for me. She also seems to prefer chikku kolams like me and this is what she came up with. I was quite happy to see what she created and immediately recreated it on PS for you to enjoy..
