Rangoli: One that gave me pleasure !

This dotted rangOli, a modified 3 x 5 sOnA pattern, gave me lot of pleasure in its design and execution. Hope you too will be as pleased.

Rangoli: 2011-sOna

Just for the record, the sOnA pattern with (11 rows and 20 columns) with inscribed 2011. It is this basic pattern that was used to create the new year greeting. Some people felt this is better than the other, each to one's taste, is it not?

Rangoli: Happy makara sankrAnti (pongal) !

Here is wishing you all a happy sankrAnti and pongal! sankrAnti is a sun festival. There is a sankrAnti every month. makara sankrAnti signifies the day of the northward movement of the sun. Our calendar is so out of sync that we are celebrating it nearly three weeks after the event Smile Here is a rangOli where the basic pattern is made of sugarcanes! In the centre is the rice pot (seen from above). The white circles are the bubbles from the cooking Smile On the outside we have sun-like symbols. Enjoy!

Rangoli: Another chikku kOlam with a modified sOnA pattern

Top right - 3 x 4 sOnA pattern - single line
Top left - 3 X 4 sOnA pattern with gaps between dots (1,3) and (1,4) as well as dots (3,3) and (3,4)
Bottom - Pattern with two lines after placing together the four-fold related patterns (90 degree rotations) obtained from top left pattern.

Enjoy - Regards! - mOhana

Rangoli: 2011 will be an year of question marks and surprises ?!

Every year has surprises and question marks, zero change or horizontal growth. I therefore thought of making a pattern of 2011 with the question and exclamation marks together with zero and a horizontal line. Enjoy!
