Rangoli: A rangOli with 9x9 dots and isolated dots

Here is a pattern with 9x9 dots. This must have nine colours. I isolated 9 dots in a symmetric fashion and skirted around them when knotting the pattern. Now we have only six colours. Enjoy!

Rangoli: Cartoons in knots :-)

Whenever one string or two strings meet, it is called a cross-over. For a given number of cross-overs, several knots are possible. For example, if the number of cross-overs is seven, there will be seven unique knots. As the number of cross-overs increases, the number of knots increases enormously. Normally, we take the string straight as you would have observed in many of my patterns. The string need not always be straight. I have made a cartoon-like figure with one of the seven cross-over patterns (inset). I joined four of these to get a bigger pattern. This has only one string. To an extent, Simpsons inspired me in this work. Enjoy!

This is a pattern made with two each of 4x5 and 3x4 sOnA patterns. Enjoy!

Rangoli: Josephine Knot

Today I am enclosing a picture of six Josephine knots joined together. It has three strings (two mustard and one red). For the purpose of clarity, I have also enclosed a single Josephine knot with two strings. This knot, originally from the East, was named after Empress Josephine, the wife of Napoleon. It is also called Carrick Bend or Chinese coin knot. This is commonly used in macrame projects. People interested in embroidery may try this. Belts and ear-rings too can be made using these knots. Enjoy!

Rangoli: A rangOli with 1 to 15 dots (8X8 dots) - 4

Here is a rangOli with 1 to 15 dots or 8x8 dots in my scheme. This is nothing but four 3x2 sOnA patterns at 90 degrees joined together so that we have two lines. Enjoy!

Rangoli: A rangOli with 1 to 15 dots (8x8 dots) - 3

Here is another rangOli with the above number of dots. There are seven continuous lines with four colours. Enjoy!

Rangoli: rangOli with 1 to 15 dots or 8x8 dots - 2

Here is another pattern with 1 to 15 dots (or 8x8 dots in my parlance). Enjoy!

Rangoli: A rangOli with 1 to 15 dots or 8x8 dots

Here is a pattern with 1 to 15 to 1 dots. If you rotate it, it is basically an 8x8 dot pattern. It has four 3x5 sOnA patterns and two lines. Enjoy!
