This is a free hand rangoli. I saw a rangoli in a shape of sunflower so i tried with that concept. but the center part was copied from a temples ceiling.

Beautiful Celtic design! I have a feeling this is a start of a new chapter in ikolam!
If you notice celtic designs, you'll see that they look sort of like kolams - minus the dots.

Preethi, very nice rangoli.
This type of designs you can see plenty in Rameshwaram temple. In the outer praahaarams the ceiling is full of such kolams. i have taken potos of so many, inspite of neck pain. people going to Rameswaram temple donot miss to see this.
