About Kolam contest 2011 : PRINT

Normally chikku kolams are drawn with straight dots. But few chikku kolams esp., hexagon type chikku kolams are drawn with 'in between' dots. This is one such type of kolams which fascinates me. I remember to have seen this in our site but cannot recollect the name of the member.

Jaya mam, very beautiful complex sikku kolam. I can find two shades of black as background. Did you modify later in the photoshop. A very nice kolam. All the best.

Akkavukku thangai salaiththaval illai yendru niroobithu vittergal. (you have proved that you are not less talented than your sister) . Very neat, pretty and symmetrical display, Jayaji. As you said it is difficult to get chikku kolam so perfect with interlaced dots. But you have done it.

Padma, you are correct! I removed floor lines and cracks outside the kolam and made it dark using photoshop while reducing the size!

Jaya you have surprised me with such a wonderful creation. Absolutely neat and amazing symmetry - both sisters are too good in this art I must say. Adding a PC background makes the kolam take a different dimension and the colours used are sober and lovely - all the best
