This is a simple chikku kolam. Ordinary design is repeated in between Anybody can try this without much difficulty. I have drawn this with white nylon kolapodi. Since the floor also white, for the contrast I used brown and apple green colour podi for the inner designs .

Normally chikku kolams are drawn with straight dots. But few chikku kolams esp., hexagon type chikku kolams are drawn with 'in between' dots. This is one such type of kolams which fascinates me. I remember to have seen this in our site but cannot recollect the name of the member.

This is an adhoc kolam made on Pongal day at home. It is too cold and snowy here to put a kolam on the floor outside the house, thus this one is done inside by the fireplace.

Dear Lata mam,
This is straight dots shivalingam chikku kolam. 38 x 13 rows dots to be kept first.then dots to be kept like shiva lingam shape. Finally the lord shivalingam can be seen.

this sikku kolam is 31 dots, reduced to 1 straightly leaving 1 dot each side.

the kolam is drawn with 7X7 matrix in centre and in all 4 sides. the border is drawn with 15 dots to 1 as seen in the picture. these 15 dots borders are connected with 7to 1 dots in all the 4 sides. atlast the centre portion is connected with the borders with 3 to 1 dots as shown in the picture. the kolam is drawn with white colour flour and the designs are drawn with red fillings. kolam is decorated with lamps kept in a mango design in every fillings. finally the outer border is drawn as a free hand design.

This is the completed image of the chikku kolam ...In this I have used few colours to create a visibility of the kolam as our floor design could not have displayed a white kolam so clearly. As usual your suggestions are welcome.
