My Gallery
This year I decided to use colored rice for my Diwali rangoli. I had rice that remained from a kolam competition, so I decided to use it.
I was limited on time and space and wanted to involve my 8 year old daughter.. so I decided to make the kolam using rice.
Love to hear your feedback and suggestions for improvement..
the colors are not showing up the best.. but i hope it will give you an idea.
enjoy
Hope this festive season is the beginning of a wonderful year for everyone.

Very beautiful and colourful treat. Very nice design also. Did u use food colour or rangoli powder to colour the rice? Glad that your 8 years old daughter actively accompanied you in making this rangoli.
Nice collection of diyas. THose hand shaped diyas looks lovely. Had u lighten up all the diyas, it would have been more beautiful.
What will you do with this coloured rice later?
ALL THE BEST. By participating in the contest, you are already a winner.

Thanks for the feedback.. appreciate it.
Well I actually did light up more lamps and uploaded pics.. but something got messed up with my upload
Not all the lamps can be used with oil.. some I hand painted using ceramic pottery color.. so those i cannot light.. just decorative
glad you liked them
food coloring was used for coloring the rice. I have saved the rice into ziploc bags to be reused again.
thanks for all the encouragement.
Cheers

Beautifully done! Lovely shades of colors used and the texture of the rice enhances the overall beauty of this paisley-rangoli even further. I'm guessing the rangoli is done in front of your fireplace, which is an ideal location indoors for such works of art. Ofcourse the lamps make the whole arrangement more divine.
Thank you for participating in this contest.
