This is one of my very fav..I am abroad so would not be able to put a big rangoli. So with the space avl I make the best use of it. Its a small kolam with 7 dots in-between dots that end with 1.
Coloring and pattern is your mind work..Whatever thoughts flow that time give in your best.
Wishing all the iKolam friends a very Happy Krishna Janmastami. Praying the Lord to bestow his love, affection and blessings to all.
U may laugh on me saying teaching south Indian tamilian about idly. I know we like soft steamed idly .Dear friends one day i could not get my idly vessel(tondur)handy .so i tried to make this crispy idly which i tried when my nephew came from USA last diwali with family for dinner and everybody liked it .
Ingredients for four people
rice ...1 cup
udad daal(black gram)...2 and half cup
Method:
Soak both udad and rice separately for 3-4 hours .Grind udad to very fine and rice to little cores(not very fine).keep little thick as compare to steam idly . mix it and keep it for fermentation for 6-7 hours . Take round bottomed pan (kadai) which we normally use for frying things .Put 1 teaspoonful cooking oil preferably sesame oil .add on cup idly batter (dough) and keep it in very very low flame with the lid .Once the upper surface becomes dry reverse and put little oil from the side and keep it for another 4-5 minutes .serve hot with tomato sauce or samber or /and chutney .it goes very well with tea in the evening with company of our hero(I know u r laughing on my silly receipe yes na....)
Friends, last year I & my husband had been to a Health Centre in Bhuj (Gujarat) & this rangoli was drawn there on Independence Day . This rangoli is made of leaves & flowers..Submitting this one for you all to enjoy the nature's beauty..
Another very very small fish rangoli for our theme...this is a dotted one 9-9 ...just removed the extra dots after drawing this. Hope I am not too late to join you all.
I did this stingray kolam with dot count 8 x 2 to 2. Hope you all like it. I have included some extra fittings as well of fishes and sponges.
Crab is one of the delicacies, they say, in our area. The fishing economy of Chesapeake bay depends on the blue crabs. Here is a collage of dancing crabs. Enjoy!
