Lotus Dosa

About Lotus Dosa : PRINT

After seeing the Judy's recent kitchen top kolam where she had spread the kola podi and drawn a chikku design with her (dancing) fingers, I was tempted to try something like that with wet maavu !! I spread some left over dosa maavu on my kitchen top and when it was almost dry, made this lotus using a matchstick! Not satisfied with the neatness... still thought of sharing it with you....

Sindhu, you have come with a novel idea. Myself and Judy mam have done kolams with wet dosa maavu. You have tried with dry one. Nice attempt. But it would have taken a lot of time for you to clean the dried dosa maavu from the kitchen top.

Vinci mam, yes I too feel that it has been a long time since I made dosa maavu kolam. Since I'm staying in Dubai, i'm not making kolams on all the days. Afraid of doing it here. I make kolams only on special occassions. Soon i'll make one kolam and upload it for you.

Aiyoo naa illa - I can see Sindhu's mother-in-law coming after me with the dosa karandi (dosa spoon) - haha... Sindhu so nice to know I inspired you with something, but I only hope your maamiyaar does not get wild with me for making you waste dosa maavu like this - lovely attempt though. Next tile after scrapping with matchstick, try filling with colour podi and see - will look lovely I am sure..

Thank you Suguna, Ms.Rani (you are welcome home to have the lotus dosa!), Vinci (comparing with the moon's craters ha ha!!), Mahalakshmi (yes, cleaning did take quite some time!), Pushpa (chutney at our home - you can join Ms.Rani to come here and have it!), Ms.Alamelu (i wasted only 2 teaspoons!!), Dr.Rekha [will courier you this dosa at the earliest.... Smile ] & Judy [I have used only the dosa maavu that was sticking to the bottom of the vessel, which needed to be washed off anyway.... so you can rest assured that my MIL is not going to catch you!!! Smile ] for your sweet and encouraging comments!!
