Hello Everyone!

This is a free hand maa kolam (kolam done with rice paste). I have used the black and white mode to enhance the whiteness of the kolam.

cheers!

Hello everyone!

This kolam is called the 'Sahasra-dala-padmam' or the 1000 petal lotus. It is drawn using 'maa-kolam'or rice paste. This is a very auspicious kolam drawn only in the pooja-room ( like the 'Hridaya-kamalam') and is not to be drawn on the doorstep where everyone will stamp it. I made this in my pooja room on the 'Guru-Poornima' day.

Cheers!

Rangoli: Mylapore Festival kolam

Dear All!

This is one of the more attractive kolams I clicked at the mylapore festival kolam contest of Jan 2008. As the picture says it is 17* 17 dots. I appreciate the visual texture the artist has managed to create with lines and the meticulous geometrical precision in execution. A chic and suave kolam that is indeed a treat to the perceiving eye!

Hello everyone!

This is a free hand kolam of a lotus by me. Details I like about this kolam : it draws your attention to the centre with some intricacy at the middle and then flares out in thin lines and is finally contained by a lace-like border.

Cheers,

Rangoli: Free hand lotus

Hello Everyone,

This is the picture of a free hand lotus drawn by an elderly lady. I do not know her name to be mentioned in this website. I love the intricacy and the radial symmetry of this design.

Cheers!
