SABUDANA KICHADI
SABUDANA KICHADI( JAVARISI UPUMA )
Ingredients
Sabudana 250 grams
Peanuts (skin pealed and grounded ) 50 grams
Potato (boiled and cut into pieces) 3 small
Jeera 3 tsp
Salt as per taste
Green chillies 4 nos
Ghee 2 tsp
Oil 3 tsp
Sugar just to sprinke 2 tsp
Curry leaves and coriander leaves as per taste
Method
Wash sabudana and remove the powdery matter . Soak it for just 20 minutes with just enough water to cover the sabudana. Add salt and mix well
On a preheated kadai add ghee, oil, jeera , green chillies and potatoes.Saute till good aroma comes out. Add the sabudana and the peanut powder and saute for a minute and cook for 5 minutes in reduced flame with closed lid.
Add curry leaves and coriander leaves at the final stage. Sprinkle sugar on the top.

We make this dish often. very very tasty. My DIL is an expert in making this( she is a Maharashtrian).Be careful in putting just the enough water to cover the sabudana,(Jawwarisy) other wise it will become.. pachak... pachak!!!
By the way can anybody give Sabudhana Payasam (kheer) receipe?

You can also try soaking the sabudana in sour buttermilk, that helps enhancing the taste of the khichdi!

as rightly mentioned by rajjamma i tried once to make this kichidi but became pichak pichk .i have to forvefully eat that kichdi alone .Thanks for giving the right way of preparation
