You have joined 4 kolams of the basic 3x4 kolam and made a big square kolam. Very beautiful. Mahalakshmi

You are taking so much pains Sir, and it shows ur enthu in kolam. Very nice.Sir, 1 suggestion. You can use matti cloth, which is used to do cross stitching, for this type of kolam with thread.

Lovely Pattern Mohanaji. Is it done with rope as I could see fasteners in the second image.

Thanks everyone! Actually I printed the pattern on a thick paper and used nylon strings to thread my way. I used cello tapes to temporarily fix the string. At the end, I stitched the corners with needle and thread. Afterward, I removed the tape. For the top one, I used the string as such (the string itself has three strings rolled into one). For the more complex bottom pattern, I unwound the string and used one string. One must be really careful in threading as even one error will make one repeat the whole exercise again. Matty cloth is one option, but the up-and-down motion will not be much pronounced on that. I actually want to try on soft wood with small nails and am looking for such wood. Regards! - mOhana

I used to do cross stitch designs long ago. This is quite tempting now - wonder if I can get myself to buy some mati cloth and stitch one of your sona designs??
