Inspired vanna kolam
About Inspired vanna kolam : PRINT
After seeing Rani's and Padma's double ezhai kolams, I tried the design with 6 fold symmetry. Since my helper Anita left the job due to health problems, I colored it myself in her style.

Thank u all for the nice comments.... since all wrote about the bright colors I want to say here that I coloured it in " Anita's Style". Left to my chice I would have used only 2 or 3 colors.( only when I am depressed I use all colors)
In this connection I want to share something. If u visit Gujarat you can see men and wmen in bright colourful attires because it is a barren land, rarely we see greenery or colorful flowers. But contrast to that in Kerala, though it is full of greenery and colours, people there prefer only white simple dress.

Nice rangOli, gives a three dimensional effect. We always learn, life is a never-ending learning process. Though I am occupied otherwise for a few more days, I could not miss the comments of Mrs rAjammAjI about colours and here is a poem on that in the famous telugu kanda metre -
It means -
Noting that the desert is monotonic
the women dressed themselves in gorgeous colours
But
as the forests are glowing with splendid colours
they decked themselves in the simple white attire
Thanks rAjammAji for the inspiration!
Regards! - mOhana

The beauty of the kolam and placement of the colors make one forget the otherwise gaudy colors, Rajamma ji. Colors that I usually do not like have joined hands with you to make me look at them again!
