Yes Rani, people usually don't mind it. I have many more, but no time to post. My husband has saved many designs in his PC too. I've been asking him to publish soon. :)

Nithya and Rani, we (my husband and I) are deprived of living a life in our homeland, and so act crazy while we travel in India. Whatever we see, we have this urge to capture it, because we would only get it to see it again after TWO years (we visit India once in two/three years). And, we stay in India for only three weeks or so. This time Mani and I had our cameras attached to our hips at all times. :0 Two crazy people :0

It's true Lata, எதுவும் கை கிட்ட இருக்கும் போது அதன் அருமை தெரியாது, may be we used to see such kolam on daily basis, whereas, for you, you can view only during your visits, that too, you may have so many committments in a short span. But don't worry, ikolam members are feeding you with numerous kolams to view and enjoy, I take this opportunity to thank you for creating such a fantastic platform, hats off to your work and support

That's right Nithya. I too took a lot of things for granted, but not any more. :) Thank you for your kind words. Member-friends like you do an amazing job of not only managing their daily work, but also in taking their time to upload here. Without people like you and the others, no feast on a daily basis - only kanji for breakfast, lunch and dinner. :)

woow lata, what a double stroked chiku kolam, no words to express even though it is drawn casually looks very nice. chiku kolam with single strokes is difficult for some that too with a double stroke really it is like a wonder.

Just now I wrote that 99% chikku kolams are drawn with single ezhai... but here comes a ckikku kolam from an anonymous person.

Nice double line kOlam! I always wonder how people remember all the complex turns and twists in chikku kOlams. By the way, do chikku kOlam artists have better memory power? Regards! - mOhana

I too have wondered at such beautiful kolams during my visit to villages. That too during Margazhi the kolams will be bigger than the hut in which they dwell. Irrespective of age all ladies are so involved in this art!

What a beauty this double stroke chikku kolam is - though a common design looks extremely beautiful with double strokes. Actually some of the chikku kolams are very difficult to remember as there are too many different sections with complex twists and turns attached to each layer. Ones like this are a bit easier to remember as there is a set of patterns for each layer and all you have to do is remember one side of the pattern and it will flow right through. Till a certain period I used to have very good memory power (partly due to concentration from drawing chikku kolams in my book), I used to remember so many chikku kolams from the top of my head but now I have to practice it once atleast before I draw it because I don't concentrate too much these days so my memory has dulled a bit.
