CHENNAI ANNIVERSARY MEET 2010
HI FRIENDS THIS IS JUST TO CONFIRM THE DATE AND TIME OF OUR ANNIVERSARY MEET.
WE WILL ALL MEET AT 10.30AM ON SATURDAY 27TH MARCH AT AMMUCHANDINI'S RESIDENCE WHICH IS AT CHROMEPET. EXACT ADDRESS AND DETAILS WILL BE INTIMATED TO YOU BY MAIL AFTER WE HEAR FROM LATA. MENU AND FOOD PREPARATION WILL BE ALSO DISCUSSED ONCE WE HAVE EACH OTHER'S PHONE NUMBER. DURING THE MEET WE WILL HAVE VARIOUS DEMONSTRATIONS ON DIFFERENT METHODS OF KOLAM MAKING AND OTHER CRAFT WORK. THOSE WHO ARE TEACHING CRAFTWORK PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU BRING ALL THE REQUIRED MATERIAL ALONG WITH YOU. AMMU PLEASE CONFIRM IS YOU HAVE PHOTOSHOP ON YOUR COMPUTER AS I WILL DEOMONSTRATE COMPUTER KOLAMS. IF NOT PLEASE LET ME KNOW IN ADVANCE TO MAKE ALTERNATE ARRANGEMENTS. ALSO CONFIRM IF YOU HAVE WEBCAM FOR LIVE CHAT WITH LATA AND BRINDHA, IF NOT WE CAN SPEAK TO THEM ON PHONE ITSELF. IT WOULD BE NICE IF YOU CAN KEEP SOME KOLAPODI, COLOURPODI AND WET MAAV FOR RANGOLI / KOLAM DEMO.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST - ALL OTHER MEMBERS OF THE IKOLAM FAMILY WHO WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND THIS MEET PLEASE GIVE YOUR NAMES HERE AND ALSO SEND A MAIL TO LATA IN ORDER FOR HER TO LINK US UP. THOSE WHO ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND BUT WOULD LIKE SOMETHING NEW TO BE DEMONSTRATED OR DISCUSSED PLEASE LET US HAVE YOUR VIEWS AND IDEAS THROUGH MAIL TO LATA OR A COMMENT HERE ITSELF AND WE WILL TRY TO ATTEND TO THAT ALSO.

There is a rule that daughters of ikolam members have to know carnatic or some classical music, because they might be asked to sing.

Wow this is truly sounding good - Usha I am so happy that you have finally decided to come for the Chennai meet, that too with your daughter Nive. I had a very very nice time with you all.
First accept my Thanks for being included me with you all for the meet.
I enjoyed the full day. My internet connection is having some problem so i am not able to comment the kolams also. Inspite of that you all joined me with you.

Thank you for sending me 50 (yes fifty!) photographs of the meet (சுட சுட ). I enjoyed seeing the photos as much as you enjoyed meeting there. It was a bonus talking to Lakshmi, Judy and Jaya ji. Thanks again. (சென்னை பக்கா ரவுடி bunch நல்லா லூட்டி அடிச்சீங்களா ?)

Yes the meet was real fun - but I could not log in earlier as my kids are in the midst of their college final semister projects and they are busy with both the systems. Just found some time now to convey my gratitude to one and all who took part, leave alone our two wonderful hosts Rani and Jaya. I have just mailed the photographs and am doing the write-up which will follow soon.. Was also thrilled to talk to you Lata and also Brindha (missed you a lot). Finally thank you Lata for bringing us all together.

Judy, please don't wait on my account.
Go ahead and publish some pictures in your blog, or the cafe area. I'll publish the chennai meet kolams (from today onwards), but I'm sorry to say that, I don't have the time to work with the photos sent by email. Also, there are way too many and I could only find the time to enjoy about 4 or 5 yesterday (I'm saving the rest for the next weekend
). I've been extremely busy lately, and am afraid, will not have the time to get to them.
