HI FRIENDS THIS IS JUST TO CONFIRM THE DATE AND TIME OF OUR ANNIVERSARY MEET.
WE WILL ALL MEET AT 10.30AM ON SATURDAY 27TH MARCH AT AMMUCHANDINI'S RESIDENCE WHICH IS AT CHROMEPET. EXACT ADDRESS AND DETAILS WILL BE INTIMATED TO YOU BY MAIL AFTER WE HEAR FROM LATA. MENU AND FOOD PREPARATION WILL BE ALSO DISCUSSED ONCE WE HAVE EACH OTHER'S PHONE NUMBER. DURING THE MEET WE WILL HAVE VARIOUS DEMONSTRATIONS ON DIFFERENT METHODS OF KOLAM MAKING AND OTHER CRAFT WORK. THOSE WHO ARE TEACHING CRAFTWORK PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU BRING ALL THE REQUIRED MATERIAL ALONG WITH YOU. AMMU PLEASE CONFIRM IS YOU HAVE PHOTOSHOP ON YOUR COMPUTER AS I WILL DEOMONSTRATE COMPUTER KOLAMS. IF NOT PLEASE LET ME KNOW IN ADVANCE TO MAKE ALTERNATE ARRANGEMENTS. ALSO CONFIRM IF YOU HAVE WEBCAM FOR LIVE CHAT WITH LATA AND BRINDHA, IF NOT WE CAN SPEAK TO THEM ON PHONE ITSELF. IT WOULD BE NICE IF YOU CAN KEEP SOME KOLAPODI, COLOURPODI AND WET MAAV FOR RANGOLI / KOLAM DEMO.

Karuppu enakkum pidikum, but periyavanga sonna adhula edhavudhu artham irukkum. Is it too late to switch to any color that reminds all of us of "growth", "happiness", or "spring"?? I think black represents gloom to some people.
(No wonder my mom was so adamant in not getting me any designer/silk sarees in black. Just reminds me of the Diwali time, where we have a rule not to have a streak of black in any of the family members' outfits).

We only suggested black because we wanted to give company for Viji since she said she was going to sabarimalai and could not wear any colour than black - any other colour is fine with me too

For Indians in general and Hindus in particular, black is NOT a colour of mourning whereas white is. Black being mournful is an imported idea. We see in many paintings rAdhA going in search of kRshNA during a monsoon night clad in black.

That's good to know Usha. (Please call me Lata). You don't have to buy a saree for this purpose, do you? Is that what the other ladies are telling you to do?
Don't tell anyone, but the Chennai group is getting a bit overexcited and hyper about it- in a good way though. They have even made a nice "girls partying" rangoli with everyone wearing black! Talk about planning - I think this group drinks a lot of Coke/Pepsi. A pukka rowdy bunch!! 
(I don't think you read my comment about your rangolis. Its getting harder to email everyone and give updates, so I've no choice but to repeat; all of your 4 rangolis in the queue are tiny, please atleast upload the wedding rangoli again).
