About Marghazhi Kolams : PRINT
This was my first Marghazhi kolam due to the unpredictable weather here in Chennai. I took this from Aval Vikatan because I liked the shape of the roses very much. The dot count is a little confusing so I will give the count from the first line - inbetween dots - 1, 2, 5, 10, 9, 8, 9, 8, 9, 10, 5, 2, 1. I am sure this will look lovely if coloured - anyone want to try??

You're right Judy, the shape of the roses is unusual, and unique. It looks as if it is ready to open up. The rolled-up stroke at the top of each rose adds some depth to the flower, making it more realistic.

Quite beautiful! The outer cube-like design with the spiral reminds me of old fashioned coal stove, may be for pongal

romba perfection and thick lines. i read urs and lata's comments and felt guilty that u people always comment on mine and i have never looked at ur kolams in the gallery sorry dears. i will check one by one comment dear. it is sure that when we get ur comments we will be in air.

Hey Judy, a chuzhi here and there, a neli this way and that way, few leaves peeping this side and that side....oh! it has become a kolam. Kalakkal drawing!

Alamelu I am really happy to know that you are visiting my gallery and digging out my old kolams to share your comments.
