Submitted by Usha Bilgi on
Hello My name is Usha and I am from Bangalore and visited Mysore, during dasara my grand parents house, we always did golu while growing up, I have kept the tradition after coming to US. Navaratri celebrations at our house in Greer, South Carolina. My theme is Mysore Dasara, and I have Chamundi Hills, Mysore Zoo, Mysore Dasara Procession, Mysore Dasara Exhibition, Channapatna Toy Store, and parking lot.

Wow! What an arrangement! Kudos to you for carrying on the tradition, here in the US. The Marapachi set (wooden couple at top-center) look grand. You've quite a collection of beaded miniature things which look beautiful. The zoo arrangement has also come out so good, apart from the fair theme and the palace! Great work indeed. :)

Thank you very much. Marapachi set is my mom's it was given to her when she got married, and it is around 70+ years old, she did all the decorations for that. Beaded things I made them when I was growing up, wish I had kept all, gave away when I got married and moved to US, now I feel it :) It is a long process, my work starts 10 months before the Dasara, have to draw the theme and how to set it up and what to do, but I enjoy doing this.
