சின்ன சின்ன கோலம் சித்திரம் போல் கோலம்
வண்ண மிகு கோலம், கண் கவரும் கோலம்,
பார் எங்கும் பாவையர் பார்த்திடும் கோலம்,
பார்க்கவும் ரசிக்கவும் திகட்டாத ஐ- கோலம் .

புள்ளி வைத்து சுழி சுழியாகா சுற்றி வரும் கோலம் ,
மாவரைத்து இழை இழையாக இழைத்திடும் கோலம் ,
வண்ண வண்ண பொடியால் சித்தரித்த கோலம் ,
வாசனை பூவால் அலங்கரித்த கோலம்,
நிலம் மேலும் நீர் மேலும் மின்னிடும் கோலம்.

அதனால் எனக்கு .......

பிருந்தாவின் கை போலே 'குழல்' இசைக்க ஆசை ,
லக்ஷ்மியின் விரல் போலே 'வலை' பின்ன ஆசை ,
ஜுடி-லதா போலே "கணினி'க்குள் புகுந்தாட ஆசை ,
மோகனமாய் 'வார்த்தை'களின் நகை செய்ய ஆசை ,
இன்னும் பலர் ' கை வண்ணத்தை' 'நகல்' எடுக்க ஆசை.!!!

( Long back i wanted to comment ikolam with a poem. only today I could do. Latha's simple and beautiful kolam is the best place for it.( the blog space is not for Tamil script no?)
The chinna chinna aasai song of A.R Rahman from the film 'Roja"is the motivation !
