Mardi Gras masks
About Mardi Gras masks : PRINT
Here is my Mardi gras masks rangoli made for the Mardi Gras rangoli campaign. Although I made it during the week of Mardi Gras, I didn't get the time to upload. I've used colored scenic sand, and white rangoli powder (white mask). I've used a fork to feather the top part at the center, and used white edible beads to decorate it. Enjoy!

very pretty faces, not scary!Nice idea to use fork for the hairy look. I request all the members to give useful informations like this so that we can learn so many tricks in creating novel effects in rangolis.
By the way is the colour sand easy to spread?

Thank you madam. No, the color sand is coarse, and scatters easily. So what we need to do is just pour and then sort of sculp it in place by pushing it this way and that (on a smooth surfaced board). I don't think it will work on cemented floor.
I'll upload another simple one with scattered red powder over the white dots, to show you in my next kolam. Also, the grains of this sand doesn't mix with the rangoli powder and stays separate.
