In the restaurant
they were seated facing each other
While their lips were sealed
the eyes were busy exchanging glances
While the hearts were warming
the coffee was getting colder
The flies buzzing around
were having a wonderful time though

On these wet golden sands
I am writing your name
and you’re writing mine
and the splashing wave
joined both of them
And now there are no names
neither yours nor mine
There is only one wave and the water

If our love were a song, you’re its singer supreme
If our love were a play, you’re its director creative
If our love were a poem, you’re its poet peerless
If our love were a sport, you’re its hunter pitiless

He has filled the whole page with my name
nothing else but my name
in various colors and in various sizes
I have read it countless times
But
I want it to read it once more
again and again and again

If a flower were to bloom
at every place he touched me
by this time
my body would be a garden of Eden
How can I describe to you
what his eyes see

I know
neither his name
nor his address
But without him on this earth
I cease to exist
What is in a name
There is only one name for Love!
