This is a chikku kOlam of the Indian flag. The flag part has 9 rows and 13 columns of dots. Such an arrangement will always give a single line chikku kOlam. But I have scooped out the central portion of nine dots to accommodate the wheel. This will result in two lines. I have given extensions so that the flag is tied to the pole. This does not alter the number of lines. Normally it is customary to show each line in a separate color. Instead I chose to retain the flag colors. The mast has 20 vertical dots. The whole pattern has in-and-out lines. Enjoy the republic day with a chikku kOlam of the Indian flag.

Wow same pinch sir, I also tried our national flag in chikku kolam sir. But, I was on the way to my son's medical checkup. So, I couldn't draw like u as much perfection sir. By seeing ur chikku kolam I am sooooo happy... Thanks for sharing this wonderful chikku flag. Happy Republic Day to u... Jai Hind!

Thanks for your appreciation. For the kind information of newcomers, another similar pattern (with a single line) without scooping out the central portion for the wheel was created last year, which may be seen at http://www.ikolam.com/node/27193 . I like this version better. The only mistake I made here is - I must have given two more dots at the bottom so that the mast can rest on the ground. Pardon me, I was in a rush yesterday, to publish it before the people in India wake up. Regards! - mOhana

As you have added temple kaLasha kind at the mast-top, you could have put a pedastal to fix the mast, just a thought, we can see your urgency for us
