Hi. Wishing one and all a Very Happy Pongal. Enclosing picture of the Kolam done for Pongal. Have made a Sikku kolam carpet to welcome Sun God. The grid is 25 rows of 25 dots each (25*25). Hope you all like the same. Your valuable comments awaited.

Your chikku kolam carpet looks so very pretty in your lovely strokes. The filling of alternating kaavi and white powder gives it a nice look.

Nice chikku kOlam with good use of red clay, even though it does not fit in with the festival theme. Could have used different colors for different lines. The carpeting effect enhances the worth of the pattern. Best of luck! Regards! - mOhana

Hi. Thank you all for your valuable comments. It was my first try with this kolam. Actually went wrong when started and had to wipe out 7 rows of dots and redo the whole thing again. At the end it was worth all the effort as i loved the pattern and evey one near my house appreciated it. Could have modified the internal designs to fit the pongal theme but then after the start up mess, did not venture to do the same as had a fear that the whole kolam might go for a toss.
