SPICY TRADITIONAL WHITE CHANNA SUNDAL
INGREDIENTS :
White Channa 250gms
Raw Mango ¼ cup ( finely chopped )
Salt to taste
Coconut oil 1 ½ spoon
Lemon ½ fruit
For Seasoning : ¾ spoon, ¼ spoon asafoetida powder, few curry leaves
Grind (raw): grated coconut 3 spoons, 2 spoons Coriander seeds, red
Chillies 6-7, few Curry leaves
Preparation:
Soak White Channa in Water overnight.
Pressure cook the soaked Channa for three whistles. When pressure released,open cooker, add salt and cook for one more whistle. Drain water and keep aside the boiled Chickpeas.
Heat a Pan, add coconut Oil, 3/4 spoon mustard and allow to splutter, add ¼ asafoetida powder and curry leaves. Add the already ground masala and sauté for a minute. Add the boiled channa and finely chopped raw Mangoes. Add Salt to taste, squeeze ½ lemon juice. Mix well and serve hot. Tasty tangy healthy sundal ready to be served. Serves - 4.
