there is a Tamil TV channel "Murasu" where they show all old films of 1950 and 60's. Though the quality is poor and very slow moving, still we can enjoy. In almost all ,we can see one rangoli on the background or heroine singing a song in front of a Thulsi Maadam with a beautiful rangoli infront of it, or festvel day celebrations where the house is beautified with rangolis!
Nowadays its very rare to see a rangoli or a heroine singing that type of songs wearing a Saree!!
mOhanaji, nice that you are treating us with those rare film scenes.
This one is familiar, can you give some clue to guess?

Hints: It is a Gemini Ganesan starrer. It has a very unusual and highly melodious song by a singer, known only for the vamp songs in those days. Hope this helps. Regards! - mOhana

Very nice kolam with beautiful lamp decoration. Thanks for the clue The song is Kaathodu thaan NaanPaaduven... Is this from the film "velli vizha" which starred Gemini Ganesan, Vanisri directed by K Balachander. :~ Hope my answer is correct.

Both Mrs Sowmya and Mrs Rajamma are right of course. LRE is a great singer. She sang beautiful songs like vArAyO tOzhi vArAyO, kAlgaL ninRadu, chittira pUvizhi, cheluvina cheeneyE. If only the MDs of those days made her sing all types of songs, she would have become another vANI jayarAm. It is a pity. By the way, there was a TV serial with the title kAdODudAn nAn pADuvEn in which songs in KB's movies were featured. Of course, as you know these are all on youtube. I watched sometime ago the movie veLLivizhA from which I took this screenshot. veLLivizhA has, besides GG and vANiSrI, jayanti and S Varalakshmi, the great singer actor of yesteryears.
