My guess for getting that shade of pink would be to mix in very little of red to the white batter. I wonder what your recipe is?

Brindha, the centre flower is an artificial one... the same on top of the vilakku...brought by my daughter from Bangkok.
Lata the pink color is ordinary pink color podi mixed with white podi. to match with the inner rose petal I put that shading.
I normally keep flowers from my garden daily in the uruli before , but failed to take photos. Now no garden , no flowers. May be thats why my rangolis are filled with creatures only now a days.
