Basic designs
About Basic designs : PRINT
Here is the pencil drawing of the extended version of the first design.
Due to shortage of time I thought I'll put only my paper drawings.
No colouring done since Rani already cautioned us of her " colour Damaakka" and I wanred to pay more attention to the developement of the design.( stock of colour podi also not there)
After an hectic travel, body also not cooperating to sit down and do actual rangoli.
So for partcipation sake I am uploading this.May be I'll do the 2nd design properly on a later date.

Very original! With slight modifications, the main motif would have become a single line design. I am looking forward to see this drawn on the floor. Lovely work.

Wow, what a beautiful pencil sketch. The originality retained and the outer extensions are fantastic. The check box design in the original kolam extension is misplaced towards left side. I liked the design very very much. Thank you very much. Thas Mis.Rajam - always stand unique and top.

Rani... who is that nobody? I think everybody can do new things in their own unique way. To draw this I have used only a pencil and a rubber . Since it was late in the night I just drew this as a free hand design to complete it fast for uploading immediately.
Yes, Padma the cross design is shifted by mistake I didnot notice till u pointed it out. I appreciate your close watch!
Thanks all for the nice comment.
As per JKM sir's suggestion I'll try to draw this on floor with a single line pattern.

You literally shocked me with this design, Rajam. :0
Let me explain further- what happened was you had posted a comment saying that you had just returned from CBE and that you would like to participate soon in a day or two. I read that comment and posted a reply immediately, to let you know that we’ll wait for your design. To my surprise, I found this design within just a few hours after my comment, in the queue, which means that you set to work on it as soon as you were done replying here! That is how you shocked me :0. I remember commenting to my husband, about wanting to ask you what you drink for this much energy.
Now, coming to the design, this is simply extraordinary. I like the checkered portions, the shaded portions, the delicate lines between, and the lovely pairs of birds with small curls in their mouths. Beautifully made design, indeed.
Finally, did I ever tell you how intimidating you are to people like me!? :0
I couldn’t help asking this question: when you could do this much especially when “body doesn’t cooperate”, exactly how much do you get done in a day when your body cooperates just fine, on a normal day, Rajam? :0

Lata, to tell you frankly, yesterday when there was no comment from you I got depressed. But now when I see your comments, I am really moved. You have taken much of your precious time to express your views.Though rarely you comment we are always eager to see your views on our works.
In this particular one I wanted your views. Since the design is your brainchild... you will be having some idea about how it sholud be developed and decorated . All are free to use their imagination/ inspiration to develope this and decorate it.But I thought You will like it if the lines are extended further to give a continuation effect. Decoration and colouring I thought others will take care of. So I did this simple extension. Now I request you to treat us with your way of developing this design.
I did not want to make you wait for 2 more days since others have already submitted, hence this pencil drawing was made in a hurry in the late night. The tonic is nothing but the " Love for Kolam...ikolam"
Hey, Lata, I am not that energetic like you all, but the driving force is only the COMMENTS from all ikolam friends. If the urge comes to put a new kolam then time is not a factor. any place available is enough to start our fingers dance on it.

Vow! Xtraordinary Rajam(am)ma!
You are a true inspiration to us! I could see your passion in this. The symmetry is so perfect. You have drawn it so casually! What to say! We shouldnt call it as pencil drawing but your fingers have danced to create an artistic masterpiece!
To be very frank, I tried to do the first one, but the symmetry was collapsed with freehand and so I went for the second one.
@Lata, Yes, the passion to draw kolams is one side. The motivation from ikolam is more than 100 redbull(s).
That really keeps us driving to do draw nice kolams! I am so happy that I found this site. Have learned so many nuances from here. ;-). Thanks to you
