Suguna, Rani and Pushpa, I offer u not only the filter coffee but with Suda Suda masal dosai. because lata uploaded by kolam immediately after my submission this morning. I never expected that this will be published today. Thanks a lot for your comments and feedback Suguna, Rani (this is not dosa batter, it is rice paste only but pulichu pona rice paste. I soaked the rice on Thursday afternoon for making kolams both for Varalakshmi Vritham and Avani Avittam, but I couldn't do it that day. I kept the soaked rice in fridge on Friday night only. Then I made the kolam on Saturday, It had the fermented smell) and Pushpa (u r free to do it, no need to ask my permission. I myself have copied from the magazine). Mahalakshmi

Beautiful design, well presented with pretty choice of colors. I also wanted to share with you that I'm holding on to the cruise uploads for a while waiting for a few more members to participate since we publish all the themed rangolis the same day (members who had participated in some of our previous themes are aware of this protocol). So, that leaves me to publish all the regular ones (freehand and dotted) faster than the themed ones. :) Anyway, I'm glad you were pleased, and so were a couple of others whose rangolis got out the door the same day. :) Things will get tighter come Navrathri/Diwali season. :0

Thanks a lot Julien, Saka, Seetha, Anirudh and Lata for your lovely comments - Lata - In a day or two, i will try to upload some simple kolams atleast for the cruise theme. Though it is simple, I want to take part in the event. Julien - to my surprise this kolam was there for 2 days. I myself wiped my kolam after 2 days. Saka - Soak required qty of rice in water for about 2 - 3 hours. Then grind it into a smooth thick paste. Take required qty of thick paste and dilute it using water. It should be in the consistency of thick milk. Take a cotton wade dip it in water and then dip it in diluted rice paste and start making kolams using ur ring finger (for single line) or both ring and middle finger (for two ezhais, if u r comfortable). Whenever the paste becomes very thick keep adding water to dilute it. the balance rice paste, if any, left over, pour in a plate and keep it in sun for getting it dried. After it is dried, u can make it into small pieces and store it. Whenever required, u can soak these dry pieces in water. In about 10 - 15 minutes, it well completely dissolve in water and u can make kolams as desired. But sometimes, instead of making this rice paste, i use idli/dosa batter for making wet maa kolams. Also please note, along with rice, add 1 tablespoon of urud dhal while soaking. If u add urud dhal, ur kolams will stand longer on the floor. It will not get vanished soon unlike with rice paste. Dear Maha, you have done a chamatkar. wonderful kolam by you. So neat and so attractive with red floor. You are really lucky to have such a floor. I am feeling jealous dear. This is the translation of Dr.Rekha's poem (Let Rao sir also do this as he is very good in that). Lo Rekhaji... I was stunned looking at your beautiful kolam I just can't take off my eyes from this wonder (chamatkaar) I just bow(do namaskara) to the hand which created this wonder. Dr.Rekha, are you happy. Maha I have tried to some extent.

Padma, thanks a lot for your sweet comments. Padma, I'm really worried because I'm going to miss this floor tile since we have planned to change our residence. Moreover, I don't know whether we are allowed to make kolams on the floor in the new place. May be, I'll participate in I-Kolam in the commenting section only. Padma, thanks a ton for your efforts in translating Dr Rekha's poem written on my kolam. Dr. Ji wonderful poem, dear, Thanks once again. Mahalakshmi
