Nice pattern, I feel like I'm climbing down a five-story rectangular staircase!
The design also reminds me of a pinwheel pattern.
mOhanaji, I have put this design in one of my morning raaga kolam recently.Like Lata says it reminds the spiral staircase.
I love this combination JKM - this reminds me of a saree I had long long ago, base was the same pale yellow and the flowers were brown in colour - it was my favourite saree..
Cool...very nice mOhanaji....if the rectangle gets curved corners then becomes the traditional Sitadevi Thurubu (Sitadevi's hair knot - as told by my Granny) minus the flowers in the joints :)
Somehow, in my hurry I didn't mention it. My apologies, rAjammAjI.
It was indeed an isnpiration. The bottom left is completely different.
I concentrated on the basic motif and tried to see where it leads to and
what types of assemblies one can get from it.
Regards! - mOhana
mOhanaji,we all try to put small designs, but You have the magic of joining such designs to create wonderful patterns.Infact in the bottom leftdesign when we stare at it the empty white space inbetween forming small and big squares and the plus sign comes prominent to the eyes.
Anirudhji, yes, my mother calls it Seetha kolam.
