My robot did the rangoli today

I came across this story, while driving around and listening to my favorite station on the radio. This is about a guy who drove across coast to coast (about 3200 miles) without ever talking to a human being, conducting all his business entirely through robotic devices (automated checkouts, ATMs, etc).
