Hello Friends,
I tried for the first time Hridaya Kamala kolam in the floor with kola podi today. Please kindly correct me if there is any mistake so that I can draw better.
Here is a hridayakamalam with OM. For clarity two different colours are shown. I worked on this for quite some time to get it to this shape even if it is not perfect still. Enjoy!

Hi All from Italy,
here is a little drawing I made yesterday, when I took part to an en plein air competition: my ispiration was also due to one of the links I've found here
This little piece was noticed and appreciated by the jury (and was the only paper piece in the contest!).
I've used water pens and a golden marker.
I hope you enjoy! Best,
Adele
This Ranjoli is a religious Ranjoli. This is referred as Goddess Laxmi's Hrudaya Kamala. Draw this Ranjoli in a plate and Worshiping daily by keeping it in front of our home gods in Pooja room has a belief that, we are directly worshipping Goddess Laxmi's Heart. This brings all wealth, health and prosperity to the home.
Lakshminivas kolam taught by Rajamji, connecting 1,3,5,2,4,1. My next kolam will be with kolapodi.
This is first try of Lakshmi's demo on kolam over water. I tried it using talcum powder.
hridayakamalam is a chikku kOlam!
See the up and down movement of the string in this hridayakamalam (same as hk-2).
Depending upon the complexity of the kOlam, the number of points of intersection
varies. In this case, it is 16. The hridayakamalam like this has handedness.

We are all aware of the eight cornered hridayakamalam and assume that it is the
only way of drawing the hridayakamalam. Here is a hridayakamalam drawn with eighteen
corners. It is like a flower. The connections are made for hearts rotated by 140
degrees. Eggs are a must for easter symbolising new life. Hearts too symbolise
new life, is it not?
