The paDikOlams I viewed here and elsewhere are all square only. Why not create one with hexagonal (six-fold) symmetry was the thought that occured to me. Here is the result.

This rangoli was done by the assistant of the Purohit who did the pooja in our house. He was filling up the colors from all 4 sides and suddenly he created this Shivalingam just like that.He was using color powdwer without mixing the white rangoli powder.

This is a dotted kolam . dot count 9-5 inbetween dots and extended outside with 2,1 dots on all sides.outer border as per ur imagination.
