Chana Aloo masala

Chana boiled(Senagalu/kadalai) - 1 cup Potatoes(Medium Size) - 3 (chopped and boiled) Onions(ullipaya/vengayam) - 2 Garlic(Vellullipaya/poondu) - 7 to 8 flakes Ginger(allam/inji) - small piece Tomato(tamata/thakkali) - 1 Green Chillies(pachi merapakaya/milakai) - 3 Curry leaves(karivapaku/kariveppilai) Coriander(kothimeera/kottamalli) Salt(uppu) - 1tsp Sugar(chekkera/sakkarai) - 1 tsp Turmeric powder(pasupu/manjal) - 3/4 tsp Red chilli powder - 1 1/2 tsp Garam masala powder - 1 1/2 tsp Butter(venna/vennay) - 2 tsp Cloves(Lavangam) - 3 Cinnamon Cashewnuts(Kaju) - 10-12 includes for garnish Ghee - 2 tsp Oil - 5 tsp Water - 1/2 cup Time Required - 20-30 mins Serves 4

Ingredients and method

*Heat ghee in a pan add cloves and cinnamon fry them for 1-2 mins and then take them into a plate.
*Now add cashew nuts and fry them till they turn brown(3-5 mins).
*Grind ginger and garlic into paste,add chopped onions to them and grind(Better if you don't make onions into fine paste).
*Cut tomato into small pieces and grind it.
*Heat oil in a pan add the onion-ginger-garlic paste fry till it turns golden brown, add turmeric powder,red chilli powder,sugar,salt,garam masala powder,coriander and curry leaves.
*Add butter and tomato puree to the mixture and cook for 2-3 mins.
*Slightly mash potatoes,add chana and mashed potatoes to the pan.
*Add water to the mixture and cook on a medium flame for 5-12 mins.
*uff!!!!Now garnish with the fried cashew nuts and coriander.
*Our chana aloo masala is now ready!!!!
*Serve hot with Chapati or Poori.

P.S Try it carefully because it is my experiment :P.....however it turned good after i cooked it!!!(So says my mom!!)
