Saree design

Lata this is a saree design done on the computer - and i don't have a bigger image to upload for you because it is done to a particular measurement before it is sent for weaving - hence the restriction of size... i will try and make a bigger one just to show you how it is done and post it to u separately sometime.... thank you lakshmi and indira i am so happy when you say that you have the same design on your saree - you see sometimes our designs reach our friends - actually i have added the flowers to enhance the image... we give individual designs (buttas) to the weavers also and they mix and match them while weaving....

well Lata designs are made according to the specifications of a weaver with regard to the size only - the design is completely our choice depending on our creativity - and we can get sale for our designs only if the weaver is impressed with it - this peacock was done for a silk saree border as a butta (the flowers i added only now) yes i have designed for a few weavers in Salem and Kanchipuram couple of years ago which have been woven into silk sarees too... but the sad part is that i did not get to see them after they were woven... and the girl who used to market our designs had a baby and has taken a break so a lot of my designs are still sleeping in my computer now... yes this design can be used for any fabric/apparel if it suits the weaver... in fact it can be used as print too not necessarily woven... will load couple of designs for you that have been submitted for apparel and bed linen too...
