About Nava daniya pillaiyar kolam : PRINT

In our daugter-in-law's valaikappu we put pilliyar in navadania. We prepare a savory called kollu payiru. It contains kollu, pachaipayaru, bengalgram, pottukadalai and managaram. All are roasted and, salt & chilli is added. But the pilliyar was made with colourful daniams.

First I started to draw a symmetrical drawing but in the second step from the centre was little bit small and to hide the mistake i altered the next design into a triangular shape and extended the design, and in the 4th stage the design drawn in both sides are not even and to adjust it i put one handle on left side and suddenly an imagination of teapot struck and I put one spout on the right and developed it and finally arrived at a teapot design.

The Ganesha rangoli looks nice! I've heard of Navadania decorations made for weddings/pujas, but this is first time I'm coming to know of navadania rangolis made for a baby shower. Good to know, thank you for sharing it here!

The Dhania pillayar is really nice. I think you have done it on a silver plate.

Navadaniya Pillayar is very beautiful. Swastik at the centre is nice. Very colourful pillayar.
