thank you bala mam, suguna mam, subaji, nithya and maha for your nice comments.
Suguna mam, I also learnt to do maakolam through our ikolam friend pushpa, (Gallery name Dibbutn)
"soak raw rice overnight and grind the soaked rice very nicely (do not add much water..better add water in the last) the batter should be like a thick milk" this is the procedure for making wet maavu for kolam...
you can also check up the link (http://www.ikolam.com/node/7056?p=3147) for expert's guidance...mam.
hope this is okay mam..
and Subaji....once I went through the photographs of Chennai meet and I saw your photo and also in the recent decorative plates section..you had mentioned that your daughter in law had made the duck decoration...
giving respect to elders is the right manner know mam...that why the new Ji...
(your views please).
Vasanthi, well done! Simple beauty enbadhu idhu thaano?
Very neat drawing , that too with wet maavu. You have mastered the art.
Marron and white combination is glittering in the orange base.

Fantastic kolam and looks like printed one. The dark maroon has doubled the beauty. Is that colour or Kavi powder.
