Lakshmi, when I saw this kolam, I couldn't help laughing out loud...don't get me wrong. You see, what everybody does while making rangoli is, use a katori to hold their flour. With your kind of rangolis, one would have to struggle with a bucket full of kolam powder. When I started to imagine Lakshmi making such rangolis, and carrying a bucket around :0...

Lata, Yes you can laugh its an excise also, If am right !! just to added few thing , yes its takes lot of kolam powder, h /e I do not carry in bucket, that why its said kolam is not decorating the houses courtyard alone , it also gives excise in the morning moving front and back .. like bucket to bowl (I cannot carry bucket and draw) , your investigating questions is appreciable, and it really makes me to think what more to add !!!! can I also join your laughing club.....
