Nice print and it shows some message as 9 Goddesses but i can locate only 8 pair of eyes (if i am right). IF there is any message related to this print, i would like to know. Thanks for sharing this.

Brindha, it is a formation of combining 9 small kolams like the 'navagrahas' we see in temples. May be,these are referred to as godessess.

Lovely - even I have seen this on some website and had copied it. Looked for it and just found it in one of my files. I am uploading it with a hope that Lata will publish it immediately. I have changed the look and am sure everyone will like it

Good idea and great execution. I partly agree with jayAjI's explanation. However, the structure of the outer patterns is quite different, except that they meet at the eyes. There are lots of local symmetry areas, but the global symmetry is low.

nice one, yes resembles the navagraha pattern. I think this motif is Mr.Nagata's favorite, we can get to see him making these in youtube.

a lot of thanks all of you very much for your nice messages.
I am sorry not to understand some messages;

What do "eyes" means ? means "o-o" x8 ?
Is 'navagrahas' a name of one symmetric 3x3 Kolam or this combination Kolam of symmetric 3x3 ?

I agree with you on the last opinion. We can not complete to make a global symmetrical Kolam using some local symmetrical and each-different Kolam.
I would like to note you that these 9 kolam are only 9 symmetric Kolam among huge kolam in 3x3( please don't draw any lines diagonally) , there is no other Kolam. So I call them as 9 Goddesses, you have.
If you agree with it, please assign the name of each Goddess to each symmetric pattern.especially to Swastika .
as Lakshmi ?

I looked at
http://www.ikolam.com/node/14438
and surprised with it that the formation/arrangement of 9 Kolam are the same. and each of the 9 is the same in orientation as mine. In my idea this arrangement is on a kind of symmetry groups but not on arbitrary. Also after arrangement of 9 kolam, I connected them to make a large loop Kolam, which is Swastika-like in style/formation.Each kolam has only one connection between one next.
She wrote that she had made this one long long ago.
Unbelievable match with mine has happened by the Goddesses ?.
