Lakshmi, Thank you very much for this lovely gift! how do you know that Peacock and lotus are my favourites, may be because they are our national bird and flower!? Hats off to your imagination. With one single stroke you have created lovely peacocks. The flower design under resembles its feather ( thogai). See...how the lotus flowers standing majestically!!.
This rangoli reminds me of the Kavidhai by the famous Tamil poet Kamban who has written Raamaayan ( called Kamba ramayanam ) describing rainy days in a forest (maarikkaala varunanai), as below.
" Thandalai mayilgal aada,
Thaamarai vilakkam thaanga,
Kondalgal muzhavinenga,
Kuvalai kan vizhiththu nokka"
Meaning 'The dark clouds in the sky making thunderous noise as background music, the lotus flowers standing straight with a bright face as though they are holding the lights/lamps, the lovely peacocks with a majestic head dancing to the tune, and cute little forest flowers bloomed in cluster are looking without blinking their eyes and enjoying the peacock-dance, by swaying their heads (due to the breeze )
