Akshaya Tritiya
About Akshaya Tritiya : PRINT
Hi Friends, This is the kolam that i made on the Akshaya Thrithiya day. Recently my mom, bro & his family visited some temples and my mom asked my bro to capture some kolam pics for me. This kolam is one among those. Please let me know your feedback.

Thanks a lot Veni mam, Rajam mam (I'm not sure from which temple it is was taken. You are my one of my inspirations for making maa kolams), Dr Rekha (You are right, this has been made using dosa batter only, What is yellappa?), Deepa, Rani mam, Padma, Suba & Suguna.

Maha yellappa means appam fried in ghee. Yellappa contains black gram, rice coconut ,,jagery salt , coriander, cumin seed and fenugreek seed some people add banana and egg all the ingredients where ground(not very fine) and fried in ghee the colour comes to yellow to brown after frying and the dough looks cream to light yellow colour

Maha, thank you for the elaborate padikolam design. Few years back I visited Nellaiyappar temple in Tirunelveli and was gazing at the kolams than looking at the deities there! Could not take photos as it was banned inside!
