"Aadi" is a tamil month which is the  "Aashaada" month.....This month marks the begining of all festivals- Ganesh Chaturthi, Janmashtami , Radhashtami, Aavani Avittam,  Varalakshmi Vrata, Navratri , Diwali etc...and also the first day of Aadi month is when the "Dakshinaayana Punyakaala" begins....

Most importantly, this month is dedicated to the worship of the Mother Goddess....The fridays of this Aadhaada/Aadi month are as auspicious as Navratri....
