Vani, here is the circular design I was referring to yesterday.
Vani and Mohanaji, would you two mind if I too, try to make my version of the Ashoka chakra design? If yes, then it would be very similar to this design (a bit chopped up at the outer border strokes, and of course tightly packed! Smile
(I would like to take a shot at it after my exam is over, may be after a week from today) Smile

Suggestions to improve this is always welcome Smile

Lata, this brown background is still more attractive than a black one. Nicely combined small kolams in a circle.
All the best for the exam.( what exam?)

For the aSOka chakra have the lines in blue against a white background. Since the spokes radiate from the centre, the design will look almost like a real aSoka chakra!

Thank you for your comments everybody, and for the good luck (much needed)! Smile
Vani, sure, great idea!
Rajam madam, I prefer brown for some of my dotted kolams, because it resembles mother earth. The exam is on a networking course. Smile
Dibbutnji, I can't wait to upload your dotted kolams from the queue. Smile

lovely lamps kolam. Can you give the number of dots for this

Lata's picture

Ms.Leena, the dot count for one lamp (this is a group of 6 lamps) is:
10 dots - vertically at the center, followed by 5 on both sides, then 3 and finally 2. But, the placement of some of the dots are at an angle, and you have to see the image to understand.
Induji, thank you.

Splendid Lata!! I like the way you have given an embossed effect for the lines which makes it look like a real kolam, done with kolapodi and the centre looks like Uma Mahesh's kumizhl kolam Smile

latAjI, this is really good. One or two technical problems.

It seems one copy has been created and rotated by 60 deg to get the final pattern. That is the normal way to do these things so that the symmetry is exact. However, in this case it would have been esthetically pleasing if the circular loop is joined. Now they are seen separately. This may have to be done perhaps manually. Secondly, the dots are all equally spaced. This is true on a rectangular plane. However, when you consider a circle, the convenient choice is circular dots (polar coordinates). This can be quite important when you are doing the aSOka chakra.
