Margazhi dew drops Kolam contest - 2008-2009
The number of dots : 14-14 straight dots, Dot style: Connecting the dots
The name I give for this kolam of mine is "The lovely twins" or the "The twin lovers"
I drew this on our garden sand, since I wanted to try a different background other than the usual tiles or cement flooring. It took 2 hours for me to draw this kolam fully. I used the rice flour more with a slight mix of the rough kolam flour. I realised that I haven't bought different color powders, only after finishing the initial outline. I was down for a few moments that I won't be able to bring out a colorful effect. Anyhow I managed to make it look contrasting with the available colors and everyone liked it. I also used turmeric powder at the center for a different yellow. Maybe you too can try it at home.
So I decided to submit my entry for this contest.

Well, the lovely lovers are thinking of the
Valentine day, it seems You could have added
one more set of dots below and above and drawn
some waves to create the illusion of water.
A good example for perpendicular mirror symmetry.
Best of luck and regards! - mOhana
