This is free hand drawing representing a mat with picture of kalasm and lamp. Since we keep kalasam and light lamp for any auspicious function this rangoli is a good start to welcome marghazi. Various shades of Rangoli powder is used for this.
Rangoli is for one who is passionate about what they are doing.Only the Creator knows the joy of creation.

a small rangoli made on the slope for pongal,the light of the natural sun has changed the colour used for rangoli different.
My kolam has been made with Rice flour, rangoli colours and charcoal powder.
Dot Count - 20 Dots - 10 rows - till 10 on all sides (Straight Dots)
This is the season of Music and Dance and I wanted to portray this in the kolam. First, I decided on the dots count and practiced all the instruments in the dots. The instruments used in the kolam are Veena, Violin, Mirudangam, Tabla, Flute Nathaswaram. Lord Nataraja (Lord of Dance) is depicted in the centre of the kolam.
I dedicate this kolam to all music and dance lovers.

This is a free hand rangoli.This kolam was drawn one of the days of margazhi in front of my house. thought of participate in the event,..so have uploaded this..
This kolam was made by me in one of the local competitions.I have used rice powder and "kavvi" as medium's and the style is free hand.
I was pretty excited as I had done it for the first time and it gives me immense pleasure to state that my kolam was awarded the second prize....
Hope to repeat the same next time....
