This is an entry from me for Rangoli contest. This was a breakthrough Rangoli for me, in the sense that I made complete facial expressions in full colours for the first time. It took me about 3 days to complete (sleeping breaks included). The size of the Rangoli is about 6 feet by 6 feet.
This is a Rangoli I made from a picture I came across randomly somewhere. The size of the Rangoli is about 5 feet by 7 feet. The colours used at ordinary Rangoli colours with black charcoal used for black colour... about 16 hours of effort.
This is my second entry for Rangoli contest. I made this from a profile photo of a lion. This Rangoli is a little high on the aspect ratio as I was unwell when I made this. And I couldn't finish the Rangoli. The part on the right has been abruptly cut off because of that. It took me 13 hours to finish the entire Rangoli.
This Rangoli has an interesting story. I came up with a story to get the overall feel right for the image. The story goes this way:
There is this girl from the land of angels who, unfortunately, fell in love with a monster. The monster and the angel decided to elope as there was NO WAY that they could be united, given the differences between their people. On the fateful night, however, the angel land people got to know and killed the monster. The angel girl was unaware of this and she kept waiting for the monster to turn up. She was heart-broken when she waited and waited and he never came. A long time after this, once when she's out for a bath, she comes across this skull with a sword stuck right through it. She somehow KNOWS it in her heart that this IS the monster she loved. She feels no hatred or disgust towards the skull (something she'd have felt otherwise). Instead, she's just telling herself that probably, this IS him and is JUST going on looking at the skull...
This Rangoli is completely self-thought-of. It's just a bunch of orchids clumped together. The size of the rangoli is about 4 feet by 5 feet (the axes of the ellipse). About 10 hours of effort.
This was a Rangoli for for my friend's wedding - my biggest ever about 9 feet in diameter (picture taken from 6th floor balcony). The black astral projections were a part of the Hotel flooring (The Retreat, Madh Island, Mumbai) and I'd to centre the Rangoli in a way that Rangoli was symmetrically distributed over these asters...the effect seems superb though!
