This is traditional lamp arrangement done with a kuthuvilakku on festivals. it is called nalvilakku and the lamp can be either lit or not and fully decorated with manjal, kumkum and flowers.

This is traditional lamp arrangement done with a kuthuvilakku on festivals. it is called nalvilakku and the lamp can be either lit or not and fully decorated with manjal, kumkum and flowers. I have done this using a marron plate for the base with sambangi, chrysanthemums, oleander and nanthiavattai.
This was done using rice batter on karthigai deepam festival. A regular traditional kolam with lamps arranged on it.
