kannada -- oldies like mana mechchida madadi (nice dialogs), saakshathkaara (touching story, songs by pbs & ps), eradu kanasu & bayalu daari (especially music by rajan-nagendra, songs of s.janaki). new ones beladingala baale, amruthavarshini, chandramukhi-praanasakhi, aakaash, milana, mungaaru male. ananth nag was the best romantic hero in 80-90s. still feel no new actors has come to his level in depiciting the simple true love. because of my parents happened to see all these good old movies.![Smile](https://www.ikolam.com/sites/all/modules/smiley/packs/kolobok/smile.gif)
hindi -- devanand's classics, yes araadana, khubsoorat, katipatang, there are many old movies...in recent jab-we-met was the best one.
english -- serendipity, jerry maguire .......and in animation its "beauty & beast"

Yes, SankarAbharanam is indeed a good and popular movie. It was actually so popular that it was screened in many theatres of Tamil Nadu. Actually that was the last movie we watched in Madurai before we left for the US in 1980. Salangai oli is a dubbed version of sAgara sangamam in Telugu, a showcase for kamalahAsan's dancing abilities. My only complaint against both the movies is they ended unnecessarily as tragedies. My choice saptapadi too was directed by the same director of the above two movies. This is a bit more powerful in its effect and quite imaginative too.
