Plum smoothies!
Every summer we get to enjoy a bountiful harvest from our Plum tree. Usually there is a lot left over after sharing them with friends and neighbors. Our kids like to eat them plain and I incorporate the rest in smoothies.
When it comes to smoothies, I just like to wing it and don’t think much about following any recipe. The number of plums needed for making the smoothie would of course depend upon the number of servings required.
I use a lot of them (maybe 12 to 15 for serving 4 people). Sometimes I combine strawberries with plums to make smoothies. First I wash, skin the plums and remove the pits. I then add them to the blender with some freshly squeezed orange juice for sweetness, and blend until the mixture is smooth. You could add a tsp of sugar per glass if needed, and serve it chilled.
