Last Sunday I went to my brother-in-law's house and my niece's 3 yr old son was playing with his toys. He opened a box of colour blocks and wanted me to help him make the designs that were in the given catalogue. I made one design but then I suddenly was overcome with an urge to make my own design. Here is the collage of the before and after of the colour blocks. It was quite unfortunate that the number of different colours were insufficient for me to make a colour symmetric design - so I had to make do with the available numbers and colours to achieve this design which I hope you all like. Kalpu (who is a new member here) my brother-in-law's daughter-in-law said - 'Aunty you will make kolam designs with anything that is available' which explains how passionately in love I am with the art.

Ashta Dasa shakthi peeth is the park created for Golu 2009. This display is designed w.r.t to Ashta Dasa Shakthi Peetha Stotram by Adi Shankara. I've just tried my best to create the ambience for each shakthi peeth. For example, to depict Saraswathi temple in Kashmir, i've created the ambience of snow mountain, water fall and , for madheswari temple - i've created the ambal's head with orange dough and decorated ambal as in the tempel and so on. This is the hand painted frame work done by me to present it to my aunty for their house warming ceremony. In this I've done some photoshop work to show it in different angles .The first one is the original picture (2011 calender )which was my inspiration to do this painting and 2nd one shows its look before framing, 3rd one shows close up picture after framing and final 4th one shows the full framed view.
