Rangoli 9 dots 9 lines.: Toffee for children. Chacolate Kolam. by revathiilango
We have to prepare a chart for each of the KG class. I combined my idea, Purni's classroom creation with waste paper and Judy's border design. Sorry and thanx at the same time Judy and Purni.
Hello little readers,
Have you ever eaten a Romanesco? Don't you think it looks interesting? A Romanesco is a vegetable, and is a cross between brocolli and cauliflower. Some people say that is tastes sweeter than a cauliflower. This vegetable is high in vitamin C, and can be cooked or steamed.
I wanted to share this piece of work done by my 10yr old son Shriram in his school competition.
This method of creating rangoli could be used for teaching kids.
Rangoli using a spoon as a tool:
1. Spread powdered color with the help of a sieve on the floor in the shape of a circle - as seen in Figure 1. This makes a nice background for your flower rangoli which you would create on top of the circle.
2. Spoon in 1/4th of a spoon of any contrasting color of your choice on top of the circle, and press down gently with the back of a spoon, to make it look like a petal. You could add in more petals until you're done creating your flower - Figure 2, figure 3
You can also make rangolis of boats, trees, butterfly or a house on top of the background shown in Figure 1.
